German Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg has snagged pole position for Sunday's Canadian Grand Prix, while teammate Lewis Hamilton of Britain will join him on the front row.
Rosberg, who leads the Formula One drivers' standings with 122 points, just four ahead of Hamilton, posted a time of 1:14.874 in Saturday's Q3, while Hamilton's best time in the final round of qualifying at the Circuit Ile Notre-Dame/Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal was 1:14.953.
German Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel, who is the four-time defending F1 champion but is currently 77 points behind Rosberg after six races, finished third in Q3 and will be joined on the second row by Finland's Valtteri Bottas, who drives for Williams.
Spanish Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso finished seventh in the qualifying with a best-lap time of 1:15.814. EFE
