Mexican state-owned oil giant Petroleos Mexicanos has announced the creation of a new department tasked with bolstering security policies for the protection of the company's installations and assets.
Brig. Gen. Eduardo Leon Trauwitz will head the Strategic Safeguarding Sub-Directorate after its approval by the board of directors, Pemex said in a statement Friday.
The change is aimed at ensuring Pemex makes efficient use of technological, human resource and material systems in its strategic safeguarding operations and expands its management capacity in that area vis-a-vis internal and external authorities.
The new department will have three sub-units: Strategy and Security and Monitoring Systems, Physical Security and Inter-Institutional Safeguarding and Logistics Linkage, the statement added. EFE
