A couple was arrested in a Mexico City neighborhood on drug charges and police found narcotics hidden in their baby's clothing, the Federal District Attorney's Office said.

Police acting on a tip from a citizen raided an abandoned house in the capital's Alvaro Obregon district and arrested a man and his teenage girlfriend, the DA's office said in a statement.

Police found drugs and cash at the house, which was being used to deal drugs, prosecutors said.

The couple was hiding narcotics in their 2-month-old son's clothing, the DA's office said.

A plastic bag containing six paper packets filled with marijuana was found in the child's clothes, prosecutors said.

The man was turned over to a criminal court judge, while the teenage girl was transferred to the custody of the special prosecutor's office for children's affairs. EFE
