Four people who may be members of the same family were shot dead Wednesday inside a house in Xoxocotla, an Indian community in the central Mexican state of Morelos, prosecutors said.

The bodies were found in the Terraceria La Via section of Xoxocotla, which is outside the city of Puente de Ixtla, the Morelos Attorney General's Office said in a statement.

The bodies are those of two women, ages 19 and 42, and two men, ages 28 and 50, who were killed with firearms, the AG's office said.

The victims have not been identified, but they may all be members of the same family, AG's office spokesmen told Efe.

The motive for the killings has not been determined, but investigators suspect the murders occurred Wednesday morning, the AG's office said.

Two children in the house at the time of the killings were not hurt, media reports said, adding that police officers were seen leaving the house with a baby. EFE
