Foreign tourists who visited Spain between January and November spent 55.9 billion euros ($76.5 billion), 8.7 percent more than during the same period in 2012, the Industry, Energy and Tourism Ministry said Thursday.
Just in November, spending by foreign tourists in Spain totaled 3.34 billion euros ($4.57 billion), 16.4 percent more than during the same month last year, according to the results of the ministry's Egatur survey.
British tourists were those who spent the most, followed by visitors from Germany and Asia.
The Canary Islands archipelago and Catalonia were the Spanish regions that benefited most from the increase in foreign tourist spending. EFE
