NBCUniversal announced Monday the naming of Raquel "Rocky" Egusquiza as the new vice president of Community Affairs, Hispanic Enterprises & Content.

Egusquiza, who will take up her new position on Dec. 9, will be in charge of developing strategies to position the media giant's Spanish-language television network, Telemundo, in the Latino community.

She will report to Joe Uva, NBCUniversal's chairman for Hispanic Enterprises & Content.

"Rocky's vast experience across government, corporate and not-for-profit organizations will help us elevate the Telemundo Media brands among all U.S. Latinos," Uva said in a press release.

Until recently, Egusquiza was vice president for Multicultural Markets with the American Association of Retired People.

Between 2001 and 2009 she worked for the Ford Motor Company Fund, where she rose to the post of director of Community Development and International Strategy.

Egusquiza has also been on the board of numerous non-profit organizations, including the Cuban American National Council and the Smithsonian Latino Center. EFE
