A magnitude-6.4 earthquake shook the Greek island of Crete on Saturday, though no information is yet available about any damage it might have caused.

According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center, the epicenter of the temblor, which struck at 4:11 p.m. local time (1311 GMT), was at the sea bottom 64 kilometers (40 miles) west of the city of Chania, at a depth of 47 kilometers (29 miles).

The quake was felt throughout the Peloponnese from Sparta to Patras and in the Attica region south of Athens. EFE
