At least 20 people died Tuesday and another 80 were injured in a series of car bombings in different areas of Baghdad, an Iraqi Interior Ministry official told Efe.
Two car bombs exploded at a market in Sadr City on Baghdad's east side, leaving six people dead and 15 wounded.
Four civilians lost their lives and 16 were wounded in an explosion in downtown Al Nasr Square, while three more were killed and 12 suffered injuries when two vehicles blew up in the Al Bataween district.
Another seven people were killed and close to 40 were wounded in similar explosions across Baghdad.
Outside the capital, three officers were killed and a dozen others wounded when insurgents attacked a police station in Fallujah.
Four of the attackers were also killed.
Another cop died in a shooting in downtown Fallujah.
Two other police officers were killed and two were injured by a mortar shell fired at a police station in the Al Mushahada area, 35 kilometers (22 miles) north of Baghdad. EFE
