Britain's Vodafone said it is in advanced talks to sell its U.S. wireless business to Verizon Communications in a deal worth $130 billion.
An announcement could come after Monday's close of trading on the London stock exchange, British media said, citing people familiar with the state of the negotiations.
Vodafone holds 45 percent of Verizon Wireless, the largest mobile operator in the United States, while 55 percent is in the hands of Verizon Communications.
Established in 2000, Verizon Wireless quickly became a bone of contention between the ostensible partners and each made attempts to buy out the other.
The transaction now on the table would mark Vodafone's exit from the U.S. market after 14 years. EFE
