Fourteen people were killed and 25 others injured Friday when their bus ran off the road and plunged into a ravine in the southern province of Tarija.
The accident took place around 8:30 a.m. in the area known as Falda de La Queñua, Santa Cruz daily El Deber said on its Web site.
Forty people were aboard the bus when it left the main terminal in the central city of Cochabamba, Col. Angel Mantilla, chief of the highway patrol in Tarija, told La Razon newspaper.
"The driver lost control of the vehicle and it fell into a ravine," Mantilla said.
