Designer Ralph Lauren will pay $1.4 million for a limited-edition Ferrari that the Italian automaker created for a very select group of owners, the New York Post said Friday.

Starting next spring the American designer will be able to enjoy this luxury hybrid sports car dubbed LaFerrari, which among its particular features is the ability to go from zero to 300 kph (186 mph) in just 15 seconds, and a top speed of more than 350 kph (217 mph).

Lauren was present at the private dinner Ferrari organized Wednesday night at The Parrish Art Museum in the Hamptons to introduce the exclusive model to its future proprietors, the Post said.

Others among the exclusive LaFerrari owners will be Cirque de Soleil founder Guy Laliberte, Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, movie director Michael Mann, and Canadian entrepreneur Lawrence Stroll. EFE
