At least seven people, including four police officers, died and 20 others were wounded in assorted attacks carried out on Thursday in different parts of Iraq, a source with the Interior Ministry told Efe.

The four police officers were killed and 19 other people wounded when a car bomb exploded near a security patrol beside a soccer stadium in the town of Al Tuz, 90 kilometers (56 miles) east of Tikrit.

In addition, one doctor died and another was serious injured when a group of armed men fired at their vehicle with silencer-equipped weapons in the Baghdad neighborhood of Yadida.

Also, a female doctor was shot to death by a group of unknown killers as she was driving through the Al Zafaraniya zone, in southeastern Baghdad, while other armed men killed a school security guard in the same area.

According to the U.N. delegation in Iraq, at least 761 people, 207 of them security agents, have been killed and another 1,771 people wounded in acts of violence during the past month. EFE
