Investigators are looking into the poisonings of nine people at a pool party last weekend in Guanajuato, a state in central Mexico, officials said.
The company involved faces "civil, not criminal, liability" in the case, Guanajuato Deputy Attorney General Manuel Angel Hernandez said.
The poisonings occurred at an event organized last Saturday in the city of Leon by a liquor company.
Liquid nitrogen was poured into the swimming pool at the event.
Nine people were poisoned and one victim, identified as Jose Ignacio Lopez del Toro, had to be treated in the intensive care unit of a Leon hospital.
Lopez del Toro is still recovering at the hospital, Hernandez said.
Investigators are trying to determine who organized the party and who poured the nitrogen into the pool, creating a gas cloud that poisoned the victims, Hernandez said. EFE
