Five people died Tuesday in a fire in a house in the Omsk region of western Siberia, the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry said.
Three men and two women who were attending a wake for a relative died in the blaze, whose cause is under investigation, a ministry spokesman told the Interfax news agency.
The coffin containing the dead relative's body was found in the charred remains of the house, officials said.
Fires kill thousands of people every year in Russia, with 12,457 fatalities registered in 2011. EFE
