Thirteen people were killed, one was seriously injured and two others are missing in a bus crash in northern Taiwan, emergency services officials said Sunday.
Seven other people were hospitalized after the bus plunged into a ravine in a mountainous area near Hsinchu, a city about 50 kilometers (31 miles) from Taipei.
The accident occurred in Taishan District, located between Hsinchu and Taipei.
The victims were former students of Jianshih College who were heading to a class reunion.
Several of the passengers climbed out of the ravine and made their way to the highway, where they called for help.
Firefighters and members of the Atayal tribe organized the rescue and recovery operation.
Soldiers and firefighters are looking for the two missing passengers. EFE
