At least three people died and 24 were injured Tuesday when a bus collided with a truck on a highway in the central Venezuelan state of Miranda, authorities said.
The director of the Miranda emergency management office, Victor Lira, told reporters that the bus was headed for Caracas when just before dawn it crashed into a truck for unknown reasons.
The injured, he said, were taken to medical centers in the nearby towns of Rio Chico and San Jose de Barlovento.
The Interior and Justice Ministry press secretary, Jorge Galindo, said on his Twitter account that the collision on the Rio Chico-Maporal highway was apparently the result of "a bad maneuver" by the bus driver. EFE
