At least four people were seriously injured and four others were reported missing following the partial collapse of a dam that is under construction in western Cambodia, media reports said Sunday.

The collapse occurred on Saturday at the construction site on the Atay River due to excessive water retention, officials said.

Police are searching the river for the missing workers.

Work on the project, which is being completed by a Chinese company, has been temporarily halted so experts can evaluate the damage. EFE
