A total of 350 kilos of cocaine and methamphetamine were seized in operations staged last week north of Sydney and two foreign nationals were arrested on drug charges, the Australian Federal Police, or AFP, said Wednesday.

The drugs, which were found hidden in heavy machinery at a warehouse, had a street value of A$246 million (nearly $255 million), the AFP said.

Officers found 115 kilos of cocaine and 235 kilos of methamphetamine at the warehouse, as well as about A$150,000 ($155,565).

A 33-year-old U.S. citizen and a 34-year-old Canadian citizen were arrested on drug charges.

The AFP staged five operations Nov. 17-18 in the northern suburbs of Sydney and found the drugs at a warehouse in Warriewood.

The heavy equipment came from China, but police have not said where the drugs originated or where the criminal organization involved is based, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation said. EFE
