Singer-songwriter Tommy Torres has more than sufficient reasons to celebrate a 2012 that is about to end - he won his third Latin Grammy this year, his new album was well received and he became a father.

"The number 12 is written large in my album ("12 Historias," or 12 Stories). I never want to forget this year when so many wonderful things took place, and the best is that none of them were planned. They just happened," he said Tuesday in an interview with Efe.

One of the things he won't forget, the most recent, occurred last week when he won a Latin Grammy in the Song of the Year category for the number "Corre" (Run), sung by Mexican duo Jesse & Joy.

"Of the prizes awarded that night, this one gave me the most satisfaction. I keep thinking that it's the song that is the star of this industry because different artists in different generations can sing it, but it's what the public remembers, it's what they connect with," he said.

Torres will continue promoting his disc until the end of the year and will spend the holidays in Puerto Rico with his wife, actress Karla Monroig, and their 3-month-old daughter Amanda Zoe.

"I'm enjoying every new thing she does, seeing life through her eyes," he said about their little girl. "It's all so beautiful. We'll see what it's like to travel with her for the first time and we're already talking about our Christmas tree and taking the typical photo." EFE
