Cuban President Raul Castro spoke with Russia's Industry and Trade minister about bilateral economic relations, Cuban official media reported Tuesday.
At the meeting on Monday, Gen. Castro and Minister Denis Monturov also exchanged observations regarding the results of the 10th session of the intergovernmental commission for economic-trade and scientific-technical cooperation held in Havana.
Castro sent greetings to Russian President Vladimir Putin and thanked him, via Monturov, for the humanitarian aid Moscow had sent to Cuba after Hurricane Sandy passed over the eastern part of the island causing significant damage.
At the close of the 10th intergovernmental commission meeting on Monday, Cuban Vice President Ricardo Cabrisas and the Russian minister signed 10 accords concerning economic, trade and scientific-technical cooperation.
Trade between the two countries will exceed $300 billion this year, as Russian Ambassador to Havana Mikhail Kamynin said during a recent interview aired on Cuban state television. EFE
