Petroquimica Comodoro Rivadavia, or PCR, said it found a gas field in La Pampa, a province in central Argentina.

Natural gas was found in the Gobernador Ayala V area in La Pampa, the Argentine company said in a filing with the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange.

PCR, however, did not provide any details on the size of the gas field.

"The expected economic outcome is still unknown in light of the fact that it is not possible to predict with precision the magnitude or the dimensions of the discovery in question," the company said.

PCR, which produces oil and gas in Argentina's Neuquina basin and in Ecuador, won exploration rights in June with La Pampa's state-owned Pampetrol covering four areas in the province, including the Gobernador Ayala V area. EFE
