A flight instructor and a student pilot were injured when their plane crashed in Brazil's Sao Paulo state over the weekend, the fire department said.
The IPE Nhapecan aircraft crashed Sunday for unknown reasons while preparing to land at an air strip belonging to a flight club in the city of Bebedouro.
The small plane began to lose altitude and plunged to the ground, flight club president Angelo Sergio Hermine told the G1 news Web site.
Firefighters provided first aid to the unidentified victims and transported them to a hospital.
The 30-year-old student pilot suffered head injuries and underwent surgery, while the flight instructor sustained multiple fractures and remains hospitalized. EFE
