Spanish hotel operator RIU Hotels & Resorts said Tuesday it reopened the Riu Caribe Hotel in the Mexican Caribbean resort city of Cancun following a renovation project that cost 10 million euros (nearly $12.6 million).
Riu Hotels & Resorts reopened the property last Friday after upgrading all 506 guest rooms with new technology, such as flat screen televisions and wireless Internet access, the hotel company said in a statement.
The hotel was also painted to make it brighter and accent the views of the sea.
The Riu Caribe Hotel's common areas now feature three bars and a new garden swimming pool. EFE
