The death toll from a bus accident in the western Mexican state of Michoacan has risen to 11, with 30 other people injured, officials said.
Five children were among the people killed when the bus flipped over on a highway around 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
The accident occurred on the Uruapan-Taretan highway near El Sabino, a community in western Michoacan, state emergency management officials told Efe.
The bus lost its brakes, flipped over and hit a house, killing six adults and five children.
The state government dispatched a helicopter to the accident scene to transport the injured to hospitals.
The injured, the majority of whom are listed in serious condition, were taken to three municipal hospitals in Uruapan.
The bus was carrying children and instructors from the Juan Escutia preschool in Uruapan on their way to a crocodile farm in El Sabino.
The occupants of the house hit by the bus were not injured because they were in a different part of the building. EFE
