Tegucigalpa – The bodies of four young men abducted hours earlier were found Friday in a rural area south of Tegucigalpa, a source with the Honduran police said.
A police officer discovered the bodies during a routine patrol near the village of Los Hornos.
The killers used the victims' shoelaces to bind their hands and feet and each of the young men was shot several times in the head and back, the source said.
The victims, who included a pair of brothers, were seized Thursday night by armed men, residents of the capital neighborhood of La Peña told authorities.
Honduras experiences an average of 20 murders a day, according to figures from independent human rights organizations.
