The Spanish Civil Guard on Tuesday arrested a Cuban citizen accused of belonging to Al Qaeda and of the crimes of glorifying terrorism and issuing threats.
The Interior Minister said that the man in custody, J.E.F.M., had gone through a process of radicalization in recent years and had published on the Internet - where he managed several YouTube accounts - as many as 1,120 radical videos that for the most part were his own productions.
An extremist defender of the thesis and goals of global jihad as promoted by Al Qaeda, the Cuban citizen developed an Internet program for the radical indoctrination of other individuals, the ministry said.
The suspect was arrested in Cala Ratjada-Capdepera on the island of Mallorca.
In a search of his home the authorities seized several laptops, external hard drives, memory sticks and cards.
