The hero intern who helped save Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' life will throw out the first pitch at Tuesday night's All-Star Game in Phoenix.

Daniel Hernandez, 21, who sprung into action and helped keep the congresswoman after she was shot in the head outside a Tucson mall in January, will do the honors at Chase Field when the National League hosts the American League at the 82nd All-Star game.

"It's been really hectic and really, because of what happened. I've had a lot of opportunities that I would have never had before, to go out and speak to...young people about the importance of getting involved, but also getting an education," Hernandez told Shepard Smith on Studio B Tuesday. "I'm very busy, but loving every second of being able to talk about the things that are important to me."

The game is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. EST.
