In a decision that is likely to stir discussion, President Barack Obama has decided that the United States will not release death photos of terrorist Osama bin Laden.

There had been concerns that the gruesome pictures of Bin Laden's dead body would have been inflammatory. The White House is concerned that they could create a security risk.

Some observers had called for the release in order to put to rest conspiracy theories that Bin Laden was still alive.

Obama's decision was reported on the CBS News Web site Wednesday after the president sat for an interview with 60 Minutes.
