Agencia Efe correspondents in Los Angeles won five nominations in the 6th annual National Entertainment Journalism Awards.

Fernando Mexia, 35, is up for four prizes, including journalist of the year, while Antonio Martin Guirado, 30, is a candidate in the category of best feature of less than 1,000 words.

The Efe correspondents will vie for prizes at the Los Angeles Press Club's gala on Nov. 24 with colleagues from other outlets including The Financial Times, Bloomberg, The Hollywood Reporter, People, ABC and Huffington Post.

Mexia's article on the eternal diva Marilyn Monroe and its accompanying video are competing for the prize of best news story in a digital format and best audiovisual, respectively.

He is also a finalist for the prize of best journalistic profile published on the Internet for a story on Hispanic playwright Luis Valdez.

Guirado won a nomination for his article "Harrison Ford: 'I Always Fought. I'm Still Fighting,'" in which the celebrated actor reflects on his life upon turning 70. EFE
