The show is revolutionizing the television world. “El Capo” is the most expensive series ever produced in Colombia. It is one of the most popular programs on all of Spanish-language television, winning the hearts of U.S. viewers after its second season debut on the new MundoFOX network.
Now, we meet the man behind the all the action. The star met with MY Lifestyle Magazine Managing Editor Carlos Anaya for an intimate chat in New York.
Marlon Moreno can easily be called the Latin version of George Clooney. His grey hair, appearance and sophistication make him irresistible to his fans. On television, he plays a ruthless Colombian drug kingpin. The show packs plenty of drama and Moreno plays right into it.
“I let myself get taken away by the El Capo character and I do more than what’s on the script,” he says in Spanish.
In real life, Moreno seems reflective and focused on the important things. He embodies what is to be a man in this day in age - a healthy mix of strength, sensitivity, friendliness and overall, being a gentleman.
“I accept when I am scared. I accept when I feel insecure. And I confess that I used to be very scared of interviews,” he admits.
Moreno has a long list of roles as an actor going back more than 15 years. In his exclusive interview with Carlos Anaya, he talks about one of his current projects, a film called “Cazando Luciérnagas.” He also discusses what he has learned from being “El Capo,” his spiritual side, the price of fame, and much more.
