For Latinos, Jorge and Laura Posada represent success, stability and perseverance as a family. The two have been happily married for 13 years and have two children together.

Jorge is a baseball legend, retiring last season after playing 17 years for the New York Yankees. Laura is a rising television star with two shows on Utilisima, “Manual de Supervivencia” and “Tu Vida Más Simple.”

Although they both live very public lives, this couple tends to keep home and family private. They make few exceptions. Jorge and Laura recently invited MY Lifestyle Magazine into their Miami mansion for a day, giving the publication an exclusive look into their lives at home.

During an intimate interview with the couple, they opened up about how they feel about their changing roles now that Jorge has retired and Laura is working more, how to seek success and make time for family at the same time and additional tips on empowerment.

“You really need to have your priorities straight as the things you want to accomplish individually, but it’s also very important to have priorities for the family,” explains Laura. “In this day and age, you can’t be selfish.”

Since the interview, Jorge joined the My Label Is Black campaign by Johnnie Walker along with Singer Don Omar and Alex Sensation, to mentor Latino men on self-improvement and success.
