Puerto Rican actress Adamari Lopez made her debut on Telemundo's "Un Nuevo Dia" morning show, which until this Monday aired as "Levantate!"

Lopez teams up with regulars Rashel Diaz, Omar Germenos, Azucena Cierco and Daniel Sarcos in the group hosting the program, which broadcasts every weekday morning Monday through Friday.

"What's better than getting up really early in the morning, and here I am," the popular telenovela star joked at the start of her first appearance on Monday.

Her first surprise was finding her parents there on the set to greet her.

Lopez has often been covered in local media because of personal issues like her engagement and subsequent breakup with another Puerto Rican singer, Luis Fonsi, her victory in the "Mira Quien Baila!" (Look Who's Dancing) contest, and the news she herself made public in 2005 that she was suffering from cancer, which was later successfully cured.

"How wonderful they made me feel on @UnNuevoDia," the 41-year-old actress said in a Twitter posting. "Thanks to all my fellow actors and to the production x so much affection. #Happy and grateful." EFE
