Argentine President Cristina Fernandez met with Ricky Martin, who is in Buenos Aires to promote his latest album, "Musica+Alma+Sexo."

Joining the president and the Puerto Rican superstar for talks was Tourism Minister Enrique Meyer.

Argentina has been abuzz with rumors that a wedding would be part of the openly gay singer's visit to the first Latin American country to allow same-sex marriage. But those expectations were dashed when Martin arrived in Buenos Aires without his partner.

Still, dozens of fans have watched Martin's every move, with one group of devotees going so far as to rent a van in which to follow him around the capital.

Martin spent part of Monday on the streets of Buenos Aires filming segments of the video for his song "Frio."

"The reception has been fantastic. I am super grateful," the singer said during an interview with Radio 10. Though Martin's current visit ends Thursday, he is to return to Argentina in September on his "Musica+Alma+Sexo" tour.
