New York – Actresses Sofia Vergara and Kate del Castillo captivated the press at People en Español's red carpet gala celebrating this year's edition of its "50 Most Beautiful" Hispanics.
"Modern Family" star Vergara, who last week became the new image of CoverGirl cosmetics, was the first of the 50 most-beautiful to arrive at the event, wearing a pale pink bustier adorned with black lace, and a short black La Perla designer skirt.
Del Castillo, who made the cover of the May special edition of People en Español, chose for the occasion an elegant long green gown by famed fashion designer Nicolle Miller.
The star of the telenovela "La Reina del Sur" (Queen of the South) based on the novel by Spanish writer Arturo-Perez Reverte, feels that the role has divided her life in two, because, she told People en Español, "I can't separate the woman from the actress."
The menfolk were also looking their best for the Thursday night gala, Eugenio Siller in his Armani suit being an elegant example.
The actor in the soap "Aurora" said he was surprised to find himself among the most beautiful people, but told Efe that "from time to time" a number of girls had "paid him compliments."
The "beautiful" and famous who strolled down the red carpet included actresses Blanca Soto, Gaby Spanic and Elizabeth Gutierrez, as well as William Levy and RBD alumnus Christian Von Uckerman.
