Mexican actor Diego Luna left the hospital where his shoulder was operated on following an injury he suffered in the stage play "Cock," the actor's representatives told Efe.

"I'm going to my first experience in an operating room. I'll tell you about it later, they say the anesthesia is good...once again, thanks for your concern," Luna said in a Twitter posting on Sunday.

The actor is recovering satisfactorily from the injury to his shoulder, though as yet no date has been set for his return to the stage, a source close to the actor said.

The show on Saturday where the accident occurred had to be suspended after being held up for several minutes as the seriousness of the actor's injury was being appraised.

"It was quite a blow! Today the performances are being canceled and I hope to be ready for next weekend. You feel so powerless," Luna said.

The date of the actor's return to the show, on standby not long after its opening night in Mexico, is expected to be announced in the coming days.

"Cock," a reflection by British playwright Mike Bartlett on the love of a gay couple and a woman in the midst of it, co-stars Jose Maria Yazpik and Ilse Salas along with Luna.
