Singer and actress Jennifer Lopez was selected by People en Español magazine to appear on the cover of its issue on the 25 most powerful Latino women in the United States.

Lopez, 44, gave the magazine an interview at her home in Hidden Hills, California, and she provided details about the book she is writing in which she will reveal inside information about her separation from Marc Anthony.

Another powerful woman named by the magazine is Mexico's Kate del Castillo, who not only has distinguished herself for her work as an actress but also for her efforts as ambassador against human trafficking in Mexico.

Also on the list of the 25 most powerful Hispanic women is attorney and media host Ana Maria Polo, actress and philanthropist Rosario Dawson, fashion designer Rosita Hurtado and TV executive Sandra Smester, among others.

The magazine will pay tribute to the women selected at an annual luncheon to be held on Oct. 24 in Miami with TV host Ilia Calderon as master of ceremonies.

People en Español compiles its list from among show business and cultural celebrities, as well as women from the business world. EFE
