Liam Hemsworth’s new gal pal, Mexican actress Eiza Gonzalez, is headed to Hollywood after landing a role in a new comedy flick.

According to E! News, the 23-year-old Mexican actress will costar in the upcoming comedy film, “All Hail the Squash Blossom Queen.”

The film’s director, Adrian Cervantes, told the gossip site that Gonzalez will not play a Hispanic part, but “a straight American girl.” Gonzalez’s character will be named Brittany.

In addition to Hemsworth’s rumored leading lady, the upcoming flick will star Boonie Wright, who played Ginny Weasley in the “Harry Potter” films and Cameron Monaghan, from “Shameless.”

“The whole movie takes place during a single summer,” Cervantes told the website about the movie’s plot. “(It’s about) a small-town girl who lives to compete in beauty pageants. She’ll be facing a huge challenge when her main love interest becomes her biggest opponent at the town’s beauty pageant.”

Shooting for the film is set to being in April 2014. They are currently looking at filming in Georgia or Washington.

Gonzalez, who is currently in Mexico, took to Twitter to show her excitement in anticipation for her new role.

"Can't wait to start shooting!! this is gonna be sick!! ☺ @SqshBlssmFilm @CameronMonaghan @thisisbwright"

Gonzalez’s name blew up earlier this week when she was spotted with Miley Cyrus’ ex, Hermsworth, during a trip to Las Vegas. They were caught kissing passionately on Tuesday in Los Angeles outside her Beverly Hills apartment and leaving Hemsworth home.

Cyrus and Hemsworth broke their engagement Monday after three years together. They met at the set of the film “The Last Song” and became engaged in May 2012.
