The historic U.S. rock group Dinosaur Jr. and the Basque-influenced English band Crystal Fighters top the international lineup for the independent music event Kutxa Kultur Festibala, to be held next weekend on Mount Igueldo in San Sebastian.
The organizers presented at a press conference Monday the final billing for this third indie music festival being organized at the century-old Mount Igueldo Amusement Park with its panoramic view of La Concha Bay.
This is now established as the perfect place to hold the third edition of the big independent music festival that, in a daytime format on two consecutive days, has become an intergenerational cultural event that packs in an audience of some 5,500 each day.
Tickets have been selling quickly, with more than 7,000 purchased out of the 11,000 available, double last year's sales at the same time of year.
The organizers are hoping for a sellout on both days of the festival, where taking the stage on Friday, besides the Crystal Fighters, will be Delorean, Belako, Junip and Damien Jurado, while William Tyler will offer two performances in "a luxury format" at the park's small auditorium known as the "hidden theater."
On Saturday the festival will feature Dover, Built to Spill, Crocodiles, Audience and more, with Dinosaur Jr. ringing down the final curtain on the indie event. EFE
