Madonna was the top-earning celebrity between June 2012 and June 2013, pulling in a cool $125 million, thanks to her world tour, Forbes magazine reported.

The singer is as popular as ever at the age of 55, but sales of her perfume and clothing line, as well as investments, also contributed to her income, Forbes said.

Director Steven Spielberg was No. 2 on the list, with an income of $100 million that was boosted by the success of "Lincoln" and payments from "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial," the "Jurassic Park" movies and other films in his library.

Tied for third place, with $95 million in earnings, are British writer E.L. James, author of "Fifty Shades of Grey"; controversial radio and television personality Howard Stern; and television producer Simon Cowell.

Author James Patterson ($91 million); political commentator Glenn Beck ($90 million); film producer and director Michael Bay ($90 million); and producer Jerry Bruckheimer ($80 million) are next on the list.

Another singer, Lady Gaga, who pulled in $80 million, rounds out the top-10 list. EFE
