With a full house at the American Airlines Arena, Puerto Rican singer Marc Anthony launched in Miami his "Vivir Mi Vida" tour of the United States with a concert that treated his faithful South Florida fans to his greatest hits.

The singer opened the show Friday with the number "Y Hubo Alguien," followed by "Valio la Pena" and "Señora," after which he told the audience that being in Miami "is like being at home."

Before taking the stage, Marc Anthony told Efe that "being in Miami is always a special experience and starting the tour here, in Florida, really makes me happy."

"I've celebrated almost all my birthdays on my tours with you. This time it's Miami's turn to be the first to witness the 'Vivir Mi Vida' tour in the United States," he said.

The New York-born Puerto Rican singer, who launched on July 25 his disc "Marc Anthony 3.0" and his single "Vivir Mi Vida," with which he closed the concert, has topped the Billboard lists for 15 weeks.

Also on Friday, the disc with 10 numbers, whose production Marc Anthony entrusted to musician and producer Sergio George, was certified a platinum disc in the United States. With this new album, the singer raised in Harlem marks his return to the salsa after the 2004 disc "Valio la Pena."

The salsa star will give another concert Saturday night in Miami before continuing his current tour in cities across the United States. EFE
