A "Paranormal Activity" spin-off made with Latino audiences in mind is set to open in theaters next January, TheWrap and Deadline Hollywood reported, citing people with knowledge of the project.

The spin-off, directed by Christopher Landon, is complete, but remains untitled.

The movie features Hispanic actors and some dialogue in Spanish, according to Deadline, which cited a source at Paramount Pictures as saying that the film is aimed at U.S. Latinos and audiences in Mexico, Argentina and Brazil.

Though it will not bear the "Paranormal Activity" brand, the film's marketing will included references to the franchise, another source told TheWrap.

Each of the four "Paranormal Activity" films has earned at least $140 million at the box office, while none of them has cost more than $5 million to make.

The first installment, directed by Oren Peli, was made on a $15,000 budget and brought in nearly $200 million. EFE
