Claude Nobs, founder and director of the world-renowned Montreux Jazz Festival, is in a coma after a skiing accident, festival organizers said Monday.
The cross-country skiing accident occurred before Christmas, organizers said.
The 76-year-old Nobs underwent emergency surgery at the University Hospital of Lausanne and went into a coma.
The festival will not be affected by Nobs's accident because director general Mathieu Jaton has assumed all of the founders responsibilities. EFE
