The public memorial service for Mexican-American singer Jenni Rivera will take place on Wednesday at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles, the artist's family said in a statement.
The service, which the family called a "Celestial Graduation," will take place from 10:00 a.m. to noon and will be led by Rev. Pedro Rivera Jr., the singer's brother.
The funeral will be private, the family said.
"At the request of Jenni's children, we are asking that you not spend money on flowers. It would be better to bring a single white rose and make a donation to the Jenni Rivera Love Foundation," the family said.
"The Rivera family thanks you for the displays of love and support that you have given our beloved Jenni Rivera. Graduated on December 9, who now rests in the arms of Our Lord," the statement said.
Rivera's remains have been at a funeral home in Long Beach, her hometown, since last Friday.
The 43-year-old singer and six other people were killed on Dec. 9 in the crash of a Learjet in northern Mexico.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
Rivera was at the peak of her career and had millions of fans. EFE
