The JUSTMAD MIA emerging art fair, an initiative of Spain's Artfairs company, will make its debut in the international market with an event covering emerging art, architecture and gastronomy in Miami, a city that for a few days next week will become the art capital of the world.

JUSTMAD MIA will kick off on Thursday, coinciding with the 11th edition of Art Basel Miami Beach, which is considered to be the most prestigious art fair in the United States.

"We've been coming to Miami for many years and we think it's a stupendous place for an art fair like ours ... because it concentrates the greatest number of collectors and art fairs in the world at a particular time and we believe there is a market niche for this," JUSTMAD MIA president Enrique Polanco told Efe.

A total of 35 galleries will participate in the general program of this Spanish fair that, also, will present a section called "Naked" for young artists and another called "Just Produced" devoted to the art produced in artistic residence, in collaboration with the ArtCenter/South Florida, as well as a series of events on architecture, design and gastronomy.

JUSTMAD MIA, a sister fair to Spain's JUSTMAD, in the coming week will present prestigious galleries from Spain, Latin America and Miami, including Alba Cabrera, Angeles Baños, La Caja Blanca, Adora Calvo, Espacio Minimo and Fernando Pradilla.

The show, which has the institutional support of the Madrid City Hall, will be held at Soho Studios in Wynwood, located north of downtown Miami. EFE
