Legendary Mexican singer Vicente Fernandez has been the key figure behind getting the young compatriot who serves as his driver when he's in Los Angeles to launch a career in music that on Tuesday permitted him to release his first album.
Dasahev Lopez Saavedra, "El Dasa," was the driver for "Chente" Fernandez and it was the "King of the Rancheras" who offered him his first opportunity to sing before a large crowd.
The performance, according to a communique from the Universal Music record label, took place at a concert that Fernandez gave on Nov. 17, 2011, in Los Angeles' Gibson Amphitheater.
The 22-year-old El Dasa sang "Amor de los dos" in a duet with Fernandez and later received the recognition from the crowd that the Mexican idol demanded for the young performer.
Now making his way in the music world, El Dasa on Tuesday released his debut album "Pa' la raza" - which includes the single "Mentirosa" - under the Universal Music label. EFE
