Los Angeles – Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean is expecting his first child with his new bride, the couple announced Sunday.
McLean made the announcement in a YouTube video alongside Rochelle DeAnna Karidis, who he married in December last year.
"I just wanted to say thank you guys for all your love and support. We recently got married -- I was the most recent Backstreet Boy to take the plunge," McLean said.
"Because we love you all so much, we wanted to share with you all, for the first time, something very special. We're having a baby!"
Earlier this year, the 34-year-old singer moved from Hollywood to the San Fernando Valley, with McLean saying at the time it would be a good place to raise a family.
But he also told People magazine, "I think we'll be married for about three years before we have kids."
The Backstreet Boys, comprising McLean, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, Nick Carter and Kevin Richardson, were the biggest boy band in the world in the late-1990s.
More recently they have been touring with fellow boy band New Kids on the Block.
