Hot-headed, foul-mouthed actor Mel Gibson might be releasing his rage in Robert Rodriguez’s “Machete” sequel, The Hollywood Reporter announced on Monday.

The entertainment trade magazine says that Gibson is in talks to star alongside Danny Trejo in “Machete Kills.” Trejo is once again playing a revenge-seeking Mexican federal agent.

Last week, Rodriguez said at a press conference that he was looking forward to having Gibson on board.

THR says the new plot consists of Machete Cortez (Trejo) stopping a cartel and arms leader who claims to have weapons in space.

“Machete Kills” is not the only sequel that Rodriguez is schedule to take on. The Tex-Mex filmmaker also announced that he plans to direct the sequel to “Sin City” titled “A Dame to Kill For.”

“Currently I am directing it [Machete Kills,]” THR quotes Rodriguez saying when interviewed for the release of his second feature film, “Roadracers.”

“But we’re checking to see if there’s going to be the need for another director if I have to go off and do “Sin City,” he added. “I wasn’t sure what the timing on “Sin City” was or if I would have to step off to do “Sin City” at a certain point, depending on when “Machete” went. But “Machete” looks like it’s going to go pretty quickly.”

The news of Rodriguez’s new projects comes just as news of his new network made headlines.

In February, the Mexican-American movie director announced the launch of his new independent TV network, “El Rey” which he says will give second- and third-generation Latinos “something to identify with” while appealing to a mass audience.

“I have 5 children of my own. They are bilingual, like most second and third generations," Rodriguez told Fox News Latino in an exclusive interview. "But they speak primarily in English and they couldn’t find anything on television that represented who they are in this country.”

He said he wants to change that with his new network, "El Rey."

"We know the audience is hungry for it," he said.

The network will have movies, TV shows, reality shows and animated features as well as Rodriguez’s signature explosive, action- filled entertainment, he said.
