Shakira’s man Soccer star Gerard Piqué said there will be no walking down the isle with the Colombian mamasita—for now.
The Barcelona star told the Associated Press on Monday that he is really enjoying his relationship with Shakira. He was in attendance for a Mango fashion line event, the Men fashion line which he represents.
“Right now we have a beautiful relationship,” said Piqué. “In the future, the next step of any couple in love is to get married.”
“But, for now, there is nothing,” Piqué added.
When asked if dating the hip shaking stunner Shakira distracted him from his soccer duties, Piqué stated that he knows how to keep his professional and personal life separate.
“From the first year that a began playing for Barça I have given my all in attempting to win,” Piqué said.
Reinforcing that his goal is for “the team to have the best results” Piqué added that he can’t help it if “people talk about my personal life.”
“There is nothing I can do in regards to that,” Piqué said.
Shakira and Piqué collaborated together in the filming of the music video for her South Africa World Cup theme song “Waka Waka” (This Time for Africa.)
Soon after rumors swirled that the two were an item, despite the fact that both parties had significant others at the time.
Before Piqué, Shakira dated Antonio de la Rua, son of former Argentine President Fernando de la Rua.
The “Rabiosa” singer announced via her website that she and Rua, were ending their 11-year relationship.
