Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz arrived in Mexico to serve on the judging panel for "La Voz," a singing competition on Televisa television.

Upon his arrival at the Mexico City International Airport, the artist said that "it gives me great pride, is an honor and a pleasure" to be in the country.

The Spaniard will be a member of the panel of judges for "La Voz" along with singer and actress Lucero, composer Aleks Syntek and performer Espinoza Paz.

Regarding the job he will perform, Sanz said that he is going "to try to be as fair as possible" with the contestants but later he joked that he intended to be an "annoying" judge.

Televisa will broadcast the program next month.

"La Voz" is the Mexican adaptation of the NBC television show "The Voice," and the latter gave Sanz his first exposure to the format, which he said he "liked."
