Miami – Guatemalan singer-songwriter Ricardo Arjona is scheduled to release a new album by late September under his own independent record label, Billboard magazine reported.
The publication said Thursday in its online edition that the Metamorfosis label, which is headed by Arjona, has offices in Miami and Mexico.
Metamorfosis' team also includes photographer/video director Ricardo Calderon as concept director and former Universal Music Mexico executives Humberto Calderon and Miriam Sommerz as marketing director and media manager, respectively.
Arjona, one of the most successful Latin artists of recent times, has recorded his previous albums under major record labels Sony and Warner.
Billboard said that while other Latin acts have begun recording independently after stints with major record labels, Arjona is the biggest Latin pop star to do so.
Arjona released his 15th studio album last year, a record titled "Poquita ropa" that also served as the basis for a movie produced by HBO Latin America.
